This full-time position involves administrative and billing responsibilities.Role And ResponsibilitiesManage large amounts of inbound and outbound callsPatient intake and check-out proceduresObtaining all appropriate consent formsScheduling patient visits and testsCollecting co-pays and balancesRequesting prior-authorizationsInterfacing with commercial and federal/state payers to verify patient coverageEntering patient data into PMS and EMR systemsFiling medical chartsMaintaining a clean and organized reception areaAssisting other administrative/clinical staff as neededCompliance with all practice procedures and protocolsEssential QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.Experience: 1-3 years’ front desk experience in a medical office setting required; Ophthalmology experience preferred.Knowledge/Skills/ExperienceKnowledge of insurances and front-end billing proceduresSuperior level of customer service and friendly demeanorExcellent computer skills – requirement of MS applications – MS Word, Excel, PowerPointMeticulous attention to detailOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsAbility to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
