Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses. Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols. Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes. Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self‑care strategies. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care. Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR). Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes. Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high‑quality care. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols. Respond promptly to life‑threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Skills required to work in critical care area as defined by unit. Excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills. Basic computer skills – navigation of Microsoft Windows‑based programs. Effective English communication, both verbal and written. Problem‑solving and critical thinking skills. EKG knowledge (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements). Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record (Preferred). Previous EKG Interpretation Class (Preferred). EPIC (Preferred). Education Associate's of Nursing (Required). Bachelor's of Nursing (Preferred). Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) – Required. Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) – Preferred. Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) – Preferred. Basic EKG Certification (BEKG) – Preferred. Basic Life Support – CPR (BLS) – Required. Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) – Preferred. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) – Preferred. Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention Program – Preferred. Neonatal Resuscitation Program – Advanced (NRP‑A) – Preferred. PALS instructor certification (PALS‑INSTR) – Preferred. S.T.A.B.L.E. certification – Preferred. Physical Requirements Physical requirements: Pay Range $31.53 – $52.24 per hour.
