Family Law Paralegal

About the Firm

A Virginia Beach law firm is seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to support attorneys handling divorce, custody, support, property division, protective orders, military divorce, paternity, CPS matters, QDROs, and related family law cases.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage case files from intake through resolution and trial.

· Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, orders, and settlement documents.

· Conduct legal research and coordinate filings, discovery, and document production.

· Maintain calendars, deadlines, hearings, mediations, and trial dates.

· Prepare exhibits and case materials for hearings and trials.

· Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other parties.

· Assist with intake and provide general litigation support.

Qualifications

· 2+ years of paralegal experience; family law experience preferred.

· Knowledge of Virginia family law and court procedures.

· Strong drafting, research, organizational, and communication skills.

· Experience with pleadings, discovery, motions, and court filings.

· Ability to manage multiple cases and sensitive client matters.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case-management systems.

· Virginia court and litigation experience preferred.
