Shipper/Receiver I

Pay rate : $18.00/hour
Location :  Mechanicsburg, PA
Shift: 1st Shift -6 am- 2:30 pm - Monday-Friday
Forklift experience required

Position Overview:
Kelly Services is Hiring a Temporary Shipper/Receiver I in Mechanicsburg, PA s responsible for a wide range of tasks related to the movement of materials within a distribution center. This includes material handling, completion of paperwork, and recordkeeping. The role involves operation of various equipment such as powered order pickers, forklifts, turret trucks, electric/manual pallet jacks, stretch wrapping machine, and laser scanners. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs and working at heights up to 30 ft. All work should be performed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company quality policies and distribution center procedures.

Job Duties:
Receiving/Putaway:

• Load and unload trucks; interface with common carriers
• Sign bills of lading for incoming shipments
• Process packing lists and receipts from vendors using SAP
• Verify accuracy of incoming products against documentation
• Sort and prepare products for putaway
• Receive products into inventory using barcode scanners or computers
• Place products into appropriate zones/areas using order pickers, turret trucks, and pallet jacks
• Break down and distribute items from floor-loaded containers

Picking:

• Pick products for customer orders, manufacturing orders, and sample requests using barcode scanners, pick tickets, and shipping papers
• Perform bin location audits, unit load, and carton transfers
• Weigh or hand count quantities needed for orders

Packing:

• Review packing instructions from the system
• Execute special packaging and labeling as needed by customers
• Prepare hazardous/flammable materials for shipment according to established procedures

Shipping:

• Prepare cartons and pallets for shipment by attaching appropriate documentation
• Prepare unit load shipments by stretch wrapping or banding
• Generate manifests and bills of lading, ensuring accuracy
• Contact carriers to arrange pickup
• Load and unload cartons using forklifts and pallet jacks

Additional Responsibilities:

• Manage recycling and disposal of pallets
• Maintain a clean workstation and perform general housekeeping duties
• Follow all safety, security, and emergency protocols
• Submit suggestions for workplace improvement
• Identify damaged products for quality audit or repacking
• Report discrepancies to the shift foreperson

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• 1 year of relevant experience in warehouse/distribution operations
• Basic computer skills
