Job Title and Location Lab Associate I – Lewisville, TX (Sunday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM) Department Clinical Laboratory – Molecular Infectious Disease Pay $17.71+ per hour; salary offers based on skills, training, experience, education, and certifications. Responsibilities Prepare and organize samples for testing (e.g., sample racking, aliquoting, tube preparation) Label, handle, transport, and store specimens, identifying and resolving sample problems Prepare testing equipment and assist with preventive maintenance, notifying technical staff of equipment problems Assist licensed personnel or delegated supervisor in pre‑analytic and post‑analytic testing activities Prepare pre‑analytic reagents and controls using automated or fixed volume measuring devices Maintain accurate records of reagents or media using established procedures, formulas, stock solutions and fixed volume measuring devices Maintain inventory of consumable items, order when needed, log, date, and store reagents/supplies; restock benches and equipment inventory Sort and accession incoming specimens into the LIS, then deliver to designated testing Enter or transcribe data from results to computer for data reduction and prepare for licensed personnel review Tally workload data and prepare reports as requested Assist in performance of quality control procedures Prepare protocols, logs, or other appropriate documents Answer phones, take accurate messages, and maintain confidentiality of client information Help keep laboratory areas neat, clean, and organized Comply with health and safety policies, use personal protective equipment Other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Work Experience Basic knowledge of operating non‑complex equipment Preferred Work Experience 1–2 years of laboratory experience preferred Physical and Mental Requirements Lifting and carrying objects up to 10 pounds frequently; 11–25 pounds occasionally; 26–50 pounds seldom; over 50 pounds requires assistance Repetitive tasks with dominant hand Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods Good eye and hand coordination Knowledge Working knowledge of reagent stability and storage Aware of factors influencing test results Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong typing skills desirable Communication and interpersonal skills to deal courteously and effectively with management, co‑workers, and clients Automation skills helpful Education High school diploma or equivalent (required) Some college coursework (preferred) About The Team Quest Diagnostics honors service members and encourages veterans to apply.
