Restaurant General Manager

We're a small neighborhood restaurant and wine bar on West 3rd Street built around the simple idea that people remember how you made them feel. We care deeply about great food, thoughtful wine, genuine hospitality, and creating memorable evenings for our guests. We're looking for someone who feels the same way. We are looking for a restaurant person.

This is an opportunity for an experienced restaurant manager who's ready to take the next step into a General Manager role. If you've been leading dining rooms, managing teams, solving problems on the fly, and are thinking about running your own restaurant someday, we'd love to meet you.

This isn't a desk job at Melanie. Our General Manager leads from the dining room and y ou'll oversee the entire guest experience while working alongside the team every evening. That means greeting guests, helping run service, taking tables when needed, supporting your team, solving problems before guests notice them, and setting the standard for hospitality through your own actions.

We're a small restaurant, so everyone contributes. If you love being on the floor and creating memorable experiences for guests, you'll fit right in.

What You'll Do

• Lead nightly front-of-house operations with warmth, confidence, and professionalism.
• Coach, mentor, and inspire a team that genuinely enjoys taking care of people.
• Work side-by-side with your team throughout service, including serving guests and assisting wherever needed.
• Create an environment where guests feel welcomed, recognized, and excited to return.
• Build schedules, manage inventory, and keep daily operations running smoothly.
• Handle guest concerns with empathy, professionalism, and good judgment.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and hospitality every day.

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Has at least five years of restaurant management or front-of-house leadership experience.
• Is ready to step into—or continue growing in—a General Manager role.
• Loves hospitality more than managing spreadsheets.
• Naturally leads by example instead of from the sidelines.
• Is calm under pressure and enjoys solving problems.
• Has strong communication and leadership skills.
• Appreciates great food, wine, and genuine neighborhood hospitality.
• Wants to build something special with a close-knit team.

Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Wine knowledge or formal wine education.
• Experience in chef-driven, boutique, or wine-focused restaurants.
• A great sense of humor, humility, and the confidence to never take yourself too seriously.

The Schedule - t ypically Thursday through Monday, approximately 1:30 PM–11:30 PM. TBD.

No lunch service. No late-night restaurant hours. We're intentionally small. That means you'll know our regulars by name, build real relationships with guests, work closely with ownership, and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact every single day.
