Staff - Registered Nurse (RN) - Director of Nursing - $95K-145K per year

Job Title RN Director of Nursing – Gentiva Hospice, Livingston, New Jersey Overview Lead with Compassion. Serve with Purpose. Transform Hospice. We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a RN Hospice Executive Director to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with strong leadership experience in hospice care, home health, or clinical operations management. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the assigned Hospice location with a developing census. Oversee day‑to‑day operations and direct interdisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and community needs, monitoring quality through continuous improvement principles. Manage human resources: hire, train, evaluate, and guide interdisciplinary team members while fostering positive communication and a culture of compassion. Plan and organize tasks and resources, set strategic goals, monitor progress, and take corrective action on projects. Maintain office operations, including contract management, documentation of services, and coordination of outside vendors and services. Supervise and evaluate patient safety, including investigation of incidents, implementation of corrective actions, and incorporation of safety topics into staff meetings. Administer financial responsibilities: conduct financial reviews, submit budget worksheets, manage expenditures within the annual budget, and seek cost‑reducing strategies without harming quality of care. Requirements Education Registered Nurse with a minimum associate’s degree in nursing required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school preferred. Experience Minimum one year of management/supervisory experience. Minimum two years of hospice or home care experience. Three years of direct patient care in a clinical setting preferred. Three to five years of healthcare sales/management experience preferred. Strong understanding of hospice regulations, compliance, and Medicare conditions of participation. Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and interdisciplinary operations. Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Commitment to high‑quality, compassionate care for patients and families. Licenses, Certifications and/or Registration Current license to practice nursing in the state of employment. CPR Certification. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $125,000 to $135,000.
