Responsibilities

• Provide advanced patient care on the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a focus on neuro and trauma patients.
• Monitor patient vital signs and neurological status, including neuro and spinal checks.
• Administer medications, including IV infusions, blood transfusions, and PCA pumps.
• Assist with procedures such as chest tube placement, C-collar application, TLSO braces, lumbar drain management, and feeding tube placement.
• Utilize EMR (Cerner) to document patient care and ensure compliance with unit policies.
• Collaborate with a team of nurses, CNAs, and support staff to deliver patient-focused care.
• Uphold unit guidelines, policies, and dress code requirements, including weekend and on-call duties.
• Float to step-down units and med-surg units as needed to support staffing requirements.
