Your future role at a glance Location: Austin, TX Facility: Dell Children's Medical Center Department / Specialty: Pulmonary Diagnostics - Core ECMO Team Schedule: Night shift | Full-time | 3-12s How you'll make an impact in this role Deliver life-saving direct patient care as an ECMO Specialist, operating extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for critically ill children and pediatric patients. Monitor ECMO pump function, circuit integrity, and patient response to ensure safe, continuous extracorporeal life support therapy. Assess anticoagulation, electrolytes, acid-base balance, and blood gas values, adjusting ECMO therapy to maintain optimal pediatric patient outcomes. Administer blood products, medications, and fluid volumes during ECMO therapy while maintaining accurate clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support pediatric care coordination, patient safety, quality improvement, and onboarding of new ECMO Specialist team members. What minimum qualifications you'll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: One or more of the following: Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Department of State Health Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. What additional requirements you'll need Previous Pediatric ECMO Specialist experience strongly preferred.
