Parm's Landscape Management is a growing, multi-department green industry company serving Southeastern Wisconsin with lawn fertilization & weed control, landscaping, mowing, tree service, and commercial snow removal. We're looking for a skilled, dependable Fleet Mechanic to keep our trucks and equipment running and our crews productive.

*The #1 focus of this position is keeping production going.* When a truck or piece of equipment goes down, our crews can't work — this role exists to prevent that from happening and to fix it fast when it does. This includes a willingness to often work off hours (early mornings or evenings, and weekends if needed) to complete repairs and maintenance while crews are off the clock, so equipment is ready to roll when they are.

This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in their work, can diagnose and solve problems independently, and wants to be a critical part of a hardworking team — without managing people.

*What You'll Work On*

Our fleet includes pickup trucks, dump trucks, enclosed and open trailers, skid steers, a mini excavator, commercial mowers, snow blowers, plows, salt spreaders, spray equipment, and a full range of 2-cycle and 4-cycle small engine equipment (trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, aerators, and more).

Responsibilities

* Perform oil changes on trucks, skid steers, mini excavator, snow blowers, lawn mowers, and various other equipment
* Change vehicle brakes, mount and change tires, and perform a wide range of repairs on trucks and equipment
* Diagnose and repair gas trucks and gas & diesel equipment, brakes, hydraulic systems, and fuel systems (we don't have any diesel trucks)
* Perform electrical work on trucks and trailers, including wiring, lighting, switches, and battery systems
* Install, maintain, and troubleshoot GPS tracking units and truck camera systems
* Complete preventative maintenance on schedule across the entire fleet — filters, fluids, lubrication, brakes, lighting, and more
* Service and repair snow removal equipment: plows, plow brackets and hitches, salt spreaders, augers, hydraulic motors, and electric controls
* Perform seasonal equipment changeovers (spring/summer/fall/winter prep)
* Respond promptly and effectively to unexpected equipment breakdowns, including during off hours
* Troubleshoot hydraulic leaks, failures, and performance issues on trucks, skid steers, and attachments
* Perform occasional light fabrication, welding, and custom repairs as needed
* Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe; follow all lockout/tagout and PPE procedures
* Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and service notes
* Source parts and track orders
* Assist with staging, fueling, and pre/post-storm equipment readiness during snow and ice events

Qualifications

* Minimum 3–5 years of recent mechanic experience (gas trucks, heavy equipment, and/or landscape equipment)
* Strong working knowledge of small engines, diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, and 12-volt electrical systems
* Ability to troubleshoot breakdowns independently and make sound repair decisions, seeking guidance when necessary
* Willingness to regularly work off hours to complete repairs and maintenance — keeping production going is the top priority of this role
* Dependable and trustworthy, with the ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
* Able to lift and move 50–75 pounds without strain
* Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record
* Basic computer literacy for diagnostics, documentation, and parts lookup
* Vocational/technical training in automotive and/or equipment repair preferred
