Leeward Energy
LRE (Leeward Renewable Energy) is forging an American energy future with integrity, innovation, and positive impact. Born in Texas in 2003, we own and operate over 30 utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects in local communities across the United States, totaling 4 gigawatts (GW) of generating capacity. LRE continues to help meet increased U.S. energy demand through our robust pipeline of new projects every year. Domestic jobs and manufacturing are fundamental to our full-lifecycle approach to projects, along with a long‑term ownership model and a company culture dedicated to our community partners and protecting the natural environment. Job Summary The Director of Procurement (M5) is responsible for leading and executing LRE's procurement strategy across four core areas: (i) supporting execution projects through the structuring, negotiation, and administration of major equipment supply agreements and EPC contracts; (ii) supporting the Company's growing operating fleet through disciplined, cost‑effective purchasing and vendor management; (iii) overseeing corporate procurement to drive cost savings through vendor consolidation, strategic sourcing, and negotiated rate structures; and (iv) managing approximately $1.5 billion of Owner Supplied Equipment, including allocation to projects, drawdown planning, and disposition through third‑party sales of equipment not designated for use. This role will build, lead, and optimize a high‑performing procurement organization, including developing existing team members, and will work closely with Pre‑Construction and Project Management and Operations teams to align equipment strategy with project design, schedule, costs, and logistics. The Director will also lead the development and implementation of enhanced procurement processes and controls to ensure commercial integrity, risk management, and consistent execution across the enterprise. This position manages the procurement function for all Leeward business units. Essential Functions Develop and maintain contacts and relationships with major equipment manufacturers and service suppliers including but not limited to PV Modules, Wind Turbine, BESS, High Voltage Equipment and EPC Contractors to best position LRE amongst a competitive landscape. Ensure competitive bids are obtained for purchase of capital equipment as well as service contracts and assure the pricing is consistent with established project budgets. Direct the development and implementation of a corporate process for measuring vendors and contractors’ performance and monitoring risk exposure to the Company. Coordinate with LRE Legal teams to direct the development and implementation of a consistent standard for 'Contract Terms and Conditions' that includes meaningful penalties and liquidated damages for all procurement and construction contracts to assure timely and quality performance by contractors. Ensure all project contracts meet or exceed the required design, schedule, cost, compliance and safety requirements with appropriate risk mitigation strategies. Coordinate with Legal and Strategy teams to procure and manage assets in alignment with Company strategic initiatives related to Safe Harbor, IRA and PWA compliance. Coordinate with Finance & Treasury for spend and cashflow forecasting. Lead the development of LRE Supplier Code of Conduct and ensure compliance is tracked and measured in partnership with cross department key stakeholders.
