Field Service Technician

Field Service TechnicianAxon is looking for a new Field Service Technician to join their Service team. In this role, you will provide technical support to customers throughout the life of a machine. You will provide advice and physical assistance to the customer in identifying problems associated with the operation of our equipment, as well as offer innovative solutions to make the customer's operation function more efficiently and economically.Responsibilities include:On-site training of customers' operators and technicians on set-up, operation, change-over and maintenance of the systemsAttend various classes required to obtain and maintain service training certification by the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association (PMMI)Assemble component parts for the Aftermarket parts group, engage in occasional machine rebuilds/upgrades, research machine designs to identify non-standard parts, and respond to customers' outreach for immediate service supportPrepare detailed trip reports for the customer and company that identify problem(s) encountered, actions taken to resolve the problem(s), and recommended next steps to fully satisfy the customer's service needsPrepare field time reports, expense receipts, and follow-up communication with customersOther responsibilities may include development of machine operation manuals and troubleshooting guides, exchanging machine design observations with engineering department, updating, and organizing technical files, assembly and test of new machines, and participation in customer Factory Acceptance TestsQualifications include:Associates Degree in related technical field or 8 years related work experience3+ years in custom machine manufacturing or mechanical repair/maintenanceExcellent knowledge of mechanical/electrical technical applications, specifically Allen-Bradley PLCs, servo driven motors and controls, stepper motors and controls, and pneumatic driven machineryAbility to read and understand complex engineering designs, including wiring schematicsPackaging industry experience preferredStrong communication skills, both written and verbalProficient in Microsoft OfficeProblem-solver with strong independent judgment skillsTrack record of successfully multitasking to meet timelines on deliverablesAbility to travel domestically and internationally up to 85%What's in it for you?There's no monopoly on innovative ideas or limits to how far you can advance with our team.
