School-Based Paraprofessional – Chicago, Illinois
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Paraprofessional for a school-based position supporting students in the Chicago, Illinois area for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Position Details:
- Number of Positions: 1
- Setting: Onsite Only
- Hours: TBD – school hours
Contract Period: August 2026 – May/June 2027
Schedule: Monday–Friday, school hours
School-Based Paraprofessionals may provide:
- Direct 1:1 and small group support for students with diverse learning needs
- Assistance with implementation of IEP goals and accommodations
- Support with daily living, communication, and social skills development
- Behavioral support and de-escalation assistance
- Collaboration with classroom teachers and multidisciplinary teams
- Data collection and progress monitoring under teacher or specialist supervision
- Assistance with instructional activities and classroom management
- Support during transitions, lunch, specials, and other school activities
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred
- Illinois Paraprofessional license or 60 college credit hours required
- Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
- Knowledge of IEPs and special education processes a plus
- Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills
Compensation:
This is a W-2 hourly position. Compensation varies based on experience and qualifications. Hourly rates are competitive and negotiable.
Location: Chicago, IL and surrounding areas
