School-Based Paraprofessional – Chicago, Illinois

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Paraprofessional for a school-based position supporting students in the Chicago, Illinois area for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Position Details:

Number of Positions: 1
Setting: Onsite Only
Hours: TBD – school hours

Contract Period: August 2026 – May/June 2027

Schedule: Monday–Friday, school hours

School-Based Paraprofessionals may provide:

Direct 1:1 and small group support for students with diverse learning needs
Assistance with implementation of IEP goals and accommodations
Support with daily living, communication, and social skills development
Behavioral support and de-escalation assistance
Collaboration with classroom teachers and multidisciplinary teams
Data collection and progress monitoring under teacher or specialist supervision
Assistance with instructional activities and classroom management
Support during transitions, lunch, specials, and other school activities

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred
Illinois Paraprofessional license or 60 college credit hours required
Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
Knowledge of IEPs and special education processes a plus
Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills

Compensation:

This is a W-2 hourly position. Compensation varies based on experience and qualifications. Hourly rates are competitive and negotiable.

Location: Chicago, IL and surrounding areas
