Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) is needed for a facility in Iowa City, Iowa. This position is based on a Medical-Surgical Oncology Unit that provides comprehensive care to adult patients requiring acute oncology care, including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and complex post-operative care for various oncologic surgeries. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of the assignment.

Job Details:

• Required Qualifications: Current Iowa or Compact State license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, chemotherapy certification, ability to administer chemotherapy, no minimum years of experience specified
• Certifications: BLS, chemotherapy certification, IA / Compact license
• Float: Float rotation not required
• Additional Information: Medical-Surgical Oncology Unit featuring adult patients requiring complex care including chemotherapy, symptom management, and monitoring. Surgical patients receive post-operative care following procedures such as thyroidectomy, gastrectomy, adrenalectomy, splenectomy, liver and bowel resections, melanoma excisions, and pancreaticoduodenectomy. Unit is part of a nationally recognized cancer center and the facility is a Magnet hospital, emphasizing quality patient-centered care and professional development in oncology nursing.
