Monitor Technician

The Monitor Clerk monitors patients EKG rhythm patterns on electrocardiograph monitors. Makes note of irregular rhythms and monitors changes in rhythms. Ensures that monitors are functioning properly. Assists the clinical staff by performing a variety of clerical tasks that ensure the efficiency of the unit and provide outstanding customer service to our patients and visitors. Relies on established guidelines to accomplish tasks. Works under close supervision. Responsibilities Interpretation & Reporting of Cardiac Monitoring: This will have been satisfactorily performed when… Cardiac rhythms are accurately interpreted and recorded on the cardiac monitoring form on all telemetry patients every 8 hours and as needed. Dysrhythmias are immediately recognized and reported to the nurse as evidenced by lack of complaints. Interference and artifact is recognized and is able to troubleshoot and correct problems as needed.
