Job Title: General Laborer – Industrial Services

Job Description

This role supports industrial cleaning and maintenance projects across multiple client sites in and around Athens, TN. You will perform physically demanding, hands-on work in hot, dirty, and primarily outdoor environments, assisting with cleaning tanks, industrial equipment, and facility grounds using hand tools and specialized industrial equipment. Success in this position requires reliability, a strong work ethic, willingness to get dirty, and the ability to follow instructions and learn on the job.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor to support industrial cleaning projects at various client locations.

• Clean tanks, industrial equipment, and facility grounds using appropriate tools and equipment.

• Operate and use hand tools, shovels, pressure washers, and large industrial vacuum systems safely and effectively.

• Assist with site cleanup before, during, and after projects to maintain a safe and organized work area.

• Maintain job site cleanliness and organization throughout the duration of each project.

• Work safely in and around heavy industrial environments, following all safety procedures and guidelines.

• Follow instructions from supervisors and site leads and complete tasks as directed.

• Travel to and work at multiple client sites as project needs require.

• Perform tasks such as sweeping, lifting boxes, stacking materials, painting, groundskeeping, and general construction or production-related duties as needed.

• Support concrete work, basic construction tasks, and general production activities when assigned.

• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment if qualified and directed.

• Participate in extended shifts, including occasional night or long-day schedules, and work overtime and Saturdays when projects fall behind schedule.

• Experience with general labor tasks such as sweeping, stacking, lifting, and basic groundskeeping.

• Ability to use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.

• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including extended shifts, overtime, and Saturdays as needed.

• Willingness to travel to multiple client locations within Athens, TN and surrounding areas.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in general labor, construction, or production environments.

• Experience in concrete work or related construction activities.

• Experience with pressure washing and industrial cleaning tasks.

• Familiarity with groundskeeping, painting, and facility maintenance.

• Experience operating forklifts or other material-handling equipment.

• Comfort working in environments with industrial noise and heavy equipment.

• Ability to adapt quickly to changing tasks and project requirements.

Work Environment

This position is primarily field-based, with approximately 90% of the work performed outdoors. You will work in hot, dirty, and physically demanding conditions at industrial client sites such as steel manufacturing facilities, power plants (including during shutdowns), and chemical plants. The environment includes exposure to industrial noise, varying weather conditions, and rugged terrain. Typical schedules are based on client needs and may include Monday through Friday day shifts, extended shifts such as 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM for 3–4 days per week, and occasional night or extended hours. Overtime is common, and Saturday work is required when projects fall behind schedule. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, shovels, pressure washers, and large industrial vacuum systems, and may operate forklifts or other equipment if qualified. Flexibility, safety awareness, and comfort working in demanding industrial settings are essential.Experience

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
