Additional Information About the Role BJC is looking for a Pharmacy Tech 1 to join their experienced team! Our Pharmacy Tech 1s play an essential role in supporting daily pharmacy operations by preparing and dispensing medications under the supervision of pharmacists. This position assists with sterile and non-sterile medication preparation, inventory management, data entry, and other operational responsibilities that help ensure safe, accurate, and efficient patient care. Here, department staff has access to a number of drug information resources, including many online references accessible from department computers. An on-site drug information center provides support for more in-depth questions. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 1, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, assists in dispensing and transporting medications. This entry level position learns to conduct non-sterile and/or sterile compounding and is responsible for maintaining the required documentation & records. Responsibilities Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance. Assists in the preparation of medication orders, to include workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding. Uses automated/electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance. Supports various inventory activities, to include inventory storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.
