Job Summary

This role acts as a liaison between Graphic Designers and Merchandisers on the Creative Marketing and Merchandising Team. This position will specifically oversee and mentor the efforts between the two groups for the following projects: special events, product launches, and quarterly store resets. Their efforts will create consistency and quality across the business unit through their planning, coordination, and communication.

Essential Functions:

Analysis, Planning, and Coordination:

a. Coordinate and plan with Merchandising, Marketing, and Product Acquisition teams to gather needed information for the following: promotions, product launches, special events, quarterly store resets.

b. Coordinate with department Analyst to obtain relevant information for project planning, strategy, and effectiveness.

c. Create visual/written directives and production timelines for designers and merchandisers. This information should provide needed details and guidance for them to execute the displays and deliverables in line with department quality and excellence.

d. Lead and plan weekly design meeting to coordinate project efforts between design and merchandising teams.

e. Coordinate with outside vendors for events as needed.

f. Understand current retail trends.

Production and Coordination:

a. Consult with graphic designers about visual designs and needs.

b. Plan, assign and follow-up with direct reports about project plans, execution, and maintenance.

c. Ensure quality, collaboration, and efficiency between marketing and merchandising teams.

d. Participates and manages set-up and maintenance of quarterly re-sets and promotions.

e. Maintains product volume and maintenance for key selling spaces and displays in the store.

f. Coordinate printing projects with internal and external printing services.

g. Coordinate production and merchandising needs with the MTC and Outside Sales.

h. Assist Merchandising Coordinator with other projects as assigned.

Retail Standards, and Training:

a. Conduct regular inventory of responsibilities for marketing and merchandising teams in relation to the production timeline.

b. Help maintain organization of department resources.

c. Assist as needed on coaching and training for new hires and current merchandising and marketing students.

d. Help mentor and lead student employees on other projects as assigned.

Education/Experience

Minimum education/experience required:

3+ years previous experience in the retail industry, 1 year experience with visual merchandising

Preferred:

B.A. with emphasis in Fashion or Interior Design or Fashion Merchandising and Management or Visual Merchandising or Experience Design

S kills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications:

Strong organizational skills.

Understands product placement and product levels.

Creative, has an eye for detail, elements of design, and trend.

Has a collaborative attitude, flexible, and is able to maturely handle criticism and multiple opinions.

Coordinate with a team of individuals to execute a task at a high level of excellence.
