Registered Nurse, RN - Labor and Delivery

Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Altru Hospital, Devils Lake, ND 58301. Pay Range: $33.80 – $50.69 per hour. Sign‑on Bonus: $12,000 – $20,000. RN Career Ladder RN I: Require Advance Nursing Student (ASN) credential. RN II: 6+ years RN experience with ASN/ADN degree OR 3+ years RN experience with Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). RN III: 12+ years RN experience with ASN/ADN OR 6+ years RN experience with BSN OR Master’s/Doctor of Nursing. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care according to policies and protocols. Maintain knowledge and skills for appropriate patient age. Coordinate patient care within the interdisciplinary team. Provide patient education for safe discharge. Perform daily rounds on all patients, ensuring quality customer service and addressing unmet needs. Develop care plans based on assessment and patient needs. Assess nursing needs, set goals, prescribe nursing actions and discharge planning. Assess and respond to pain symptoms and early warning signs of change in condition. Institute emergency measures when necessary. Report observations to interdisciplinary team and record accurately. Ensure timely interventions or referrals. Complete incident reports within each shift. Use educational opportunities with patients and significant individuals. Begin discharge planning and counseling early. Document according to SOP. Delegate nursing interventions within scope to competent staff. Perform other duties as assigned or needed. Qualifications & Certifications Registered Nurse license from North Dakota Board of Nursing or Compact State Agreement prior to start date. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of start date. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months. STABLE certification within 12 months. Language proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Physical demands: Sit 5‑33%; stand 34‑66%; walk 34‑66%; stoop/bend 34‑66%; reach 34‑66%; crawl 1‑4%; squat/crouch/kneel 5‑33%; twist 5‑33%; handle/finger/feel 67‑100%; see 67‑100%; hear 67‑100%. Weight: Lift floor to waist 20‑40 lbs; carry 20‑40 lbs; push/pull 20‑40 lbs; slide/transfer 20‑40 lbs. Indoor working conditions continuous. Driving requirement: infrequent driver.
