Position Summary
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician - Level 2, I report directly to the Facilities Field Manager and independently perform a broad range of operational and preventive-maintenance work across Elk Ave Hospitality properties.
I diagnose routine building and equipment issues, complete authorized repairs, respond to operational requests, and help maintain reliable restaurants, housing, and company facilities.
I recognize when a problem requires Level 3 technical support or a licensed specialty contractor and communicate those needs clearly.
I also help Level 1 technicians develop safe work habits, stronger technical skills, and consistent documentation practices.
Building Maintenance & Repair
- I diagnose and complete routine repairs involving doors, hardware, carpentry, plumbing fixtures, minor drain issues, weatherization, appliances, and general building systems.
- I perform work within my demonstrated competency, company authorization, and applicable licensing requirements.
- I identify root causes where practical rather than simply treating symptoms.
- I communicate unresolved or recurring issues to the Facilities Field Manager.
- I recognize when work requires Level 3 support or a licensed contractor.
Preventive Maintenance
- I perform scheduled preventive maintenance using approved procedures and checklists.
- I maintain restaurant equipment, housing, mechanical rooms, filters, pumps, accessible equipment components, and building-envelope items.
- I inspect equipment and facilities for wear, leaks, deterioration, abnormal operation, and developing problems.
- I document completed PM work and communicate conditions requiring follow-up.
- I help prevent avoidable failures by addressing issues before they interrupt operations.
Operational Response
- I respond to maintenance requests throughout Elk Ave Hospitality properties.
- I assess issues, stabilize conditions within my authorized scope, and communicate operational impact.
- I help restaurant and property teams understand repair status and next steps.
- I escalate urgent or technically complex issues promptly.
- I remain professional while working in active guest- and employee-facing environments.
Restaurant Equipment Support
- I inspect, clean, adjust, and troubleshoot restaurant appliances and equipment within my authorized scope.
- I identify equipment conditions requiring specialty service.
- I coordinate service needs through the Facilities Field Manager.
- I help maintain equipment reliability through routine maintenance and documentation.
- I communicate recurring equipment issues that may require a larger repair or replacement decision.
Contractor Support
- I assist with HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, grease-trap, fire and life-safety, and other specialty-vendor visits.
- I help provide contractor access and relevant field information.
- I assist with locating equipment, utilities, panels, and other building components.
- I document completed contractor work and follow-up recommendations.
- I communicate unresolved concerns to the Facilities Field Manager.
Level 1 Technician Support
- I help mentor Level 1 technicians on routine maintenance tasks.
- I reinforce safe work practices, checklists, proper tool use, and documentation.
- I demonstrate approved maintenance and repair procedures.
- I provide practical feedback and help identify areas where additional training is needed.
- I support a culture of continued learning, teamwork, and accountability.
Documentation & Facilities Systems
- I record labor, materials, photographs, equipment information, and follow-up recommendations in the approved work-order or PM system.
- I document completed work accurately and consistently.
- I help maintain useful maintenance and equipment histories.
- I clearly identify incomplete work and required follow-up.
- I use company systems and mobile tools as required for maintenance operations.
Safety & Trade Boundaries
- I perform work only within my training, competency, company authorization, and applicable legal requirements.
- I recognize regulated or specialty work that requires appropriately licensed contractors.
- I do not exceed my authorized scope simply because I am familiar with the system.
- I safely stabilize, document, and communicate conditions requiring outside support.
- I follow required PPE, tool, ladder, access, and workplace-safety practices.
Qualifications
- Typically 2-5 years of facilities, construction, property maintenance, hotel/resort engineering, or comparable hands-on experience
- Working knowledge of common building systems
- Strong competence with hand and power tools
- Ability to troubleshoot systematically
- Ability to read basic manuals and identify parts
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently on assigned responsibilities
- Trade certifications valued but not required unless legally necessary for a specific assigned task
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record where company driving is assigned

- Carpentry and general building-repair experience
- Plumbing-support experience
- Appliance or restaurant-equipment maintenance experience

Final compensation reflects experience, demonstrated capability, certifications, technical knowledge, and internal equity.
Benefits include:
