Legal Operations Analyst – Civil Litigation

Location: Hybrid/Onsite
Department: Operations / Litigation Support
Reports to: Operations Manager

Position Summary

A growing Civil Litigation Law firm is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Operations Analyst to support their practice by analyzing legal, financial, operational, and intake data. This individual will work closely with attorneys, intake, litigation support, finance, and firm leadership to develop dashboards, identify trends, and deliver data-driven insights that improve case management, client acquisition, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze litigation, financial, operational, and legal intake data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
  • Legal intake and conversion rates
  • Case lifecycle metrics
  • Attorney utilization and productivity
  • Billable hours, realization, and collections
  • Matter profitability
  • Settlement and trial outcomes
• Evaluate intake performance, referral sources, client acquisition trends, and case acceptance rates to optimize the firm's intake process.
• Partner with attorneys, intake, finance, and operations to support strategic decision-making through data analysis.
• Ensure data accuracy across practice management, CRM, billing, and intake systems.
• Automate recurring reports and streamline reporting processes.
• Present findings and actionable recommendations to firm leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• 3–5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or legal operations.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with SQL.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools is preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience with legal software such as Elite 3E, Aderant, Intapp, iManage, Litify, Relativity, or other legal practice management, billing, CRM, and document management systems.
