Maitre D

The Raines Law Room at the William is seeking a talented and experienced Maître D’ to join our hospitality team. We are a busy, upscale cocktail bar that thrives on upbeat energy, passionate individuals, and creative cocktails.

We are currently seeking a full-time Maître D’ for four shifts per week, Wednesday through Saturday. This role is ideal for someone who can represent our brand with warmth, professionalism, and confidence while creating an exceptional first impression for our guests.

The Maître D’ will be responsible for managing the flow of service, overseeing reservations and waitlists, coordinating the front door team, and helping maintain a smooth and organized guest experience throughout the evening. This is also a keyholder position, and whoever is brought on will be required to close two times per week, including completing closing procedures and securing the venue at the end of the night. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential to this role.

Candidates should be able to provide guests with accurate wait times, maximize venue flow without overwhelming service staff, and maintain strong communication with management and the service team regarding pacing, seating, and venue capacity. They should be comfortable resolving reservation and seating issues, handling guest concerns, and remaining composed and solution-oriented in a high-volume environment.

Position Qualifications

• Professional and polished demeanor and appearance
• Must be available to work Wednesday through Saturday, including late nights
• Minimum 3 years of hospitality and guest-facing experience required
• Experience with Resy or OpenTable reservation systems is required
• Reliable, punctual, and able to consistently maintain a set schedule
• Strong organizational and guest communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lead by example and maintain composure during high-volume service
• Strong communication with management and service staff to coordinate pacing, seating, and venue capacity
• Confident handling reservation issues and guest concerns with professionalism and hospitality
• Interest in cocktails and upscale hospitality
• TIPS certification required within 30 days of hire (course cost will be reimbursed)
• Food Handler's certification required within 60 days of hire (course cost will be reimbursed)
• Takes initiative and works well independently
• Comfortable with opening and closing responsibilities
• Team-oriented with a willingness to go above and beyond for guests and coworkers
