About The Unit The Med Surg Unit is a 29 bed unit with an attached 7 bed ICU. Adult patients have a variety of diagnoses. Most patients are medical cases. We also see surgical cases including bariatric, total joint, abdominal, podiatry, and more. Scope of Work Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Qualifications Associate's in Nursing required. Bachelor's in Nursing required within 5 years. MI Registered Nurse (RN) required. AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days. AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months. Location and Work Schedule Primary Location: Site – Zeeland Hospital – 8333 Felch – Zeeland. Employment Type: Full time. Shift: Night (United States of America). Weekly Scheduled Hours: 36. Hours of Work: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. Days Worked: Variable and set core schedule. Weekend Frequency: Every other weekend.
