Mechanic
City of Mitchell, SD
The City of Mitchell is taking applications for a Mechanic. This position is responsible for the mechanical repair and maintenance of city vehicles and equipment, and joins a team of mechanics based out of the City of Mitchell Street and Sanitation Department. Repairs and maintains mechanical, diesel, and automotive equipment. Repairs engines, hydraulics, transmissions, electrical components, brakes, steering, suspension, drivelines, body-frames, etc. Performs basic service work on equipment; performs oil changes, battery checks, tire inspections, and lube checks. Operates diagnostic and testing equipment. Maintains a clean and tidy repair shop and maintains inventory of parts and supplies. Operates a variety of shop equipment, machinery, precision instruments, and specialized tools. Performs related duties as assigned.
