Shift Lead

This role is responsible for opening and closing the store in the absence of store management, managing cash handling, delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience, and supporting operations. Base pay range $17.00/hr - $20.00/hr Key Responsibilities Operations Open and close the store, including all required systems start‑ups, cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for business. Assist with and coach team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including opening the backdoor for deliveries. Hold store keys and register all related sales on the assigned cash register, including records of scanning errors, price verifications, and voids. Assist manager in reviewing order exceptions, reverse logistics, and evaluating/display development. Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure compliance with the Outdate program. Handle basic department pricing, daily price changes, and ensure proper signage. Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash reports, counts, ledgers, and bill payments. Maintain store appearance, including exterior/interior maintenance and repair requests. Separate food items and product placement, using FIFO for consumables. Assist at the Pharmacy out window as requested. Ensure compliance with state and local regulations on regulated products. Conduct bag checks of team members before leaving the store. Adhere to company policies and maintain respectful relationships. Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned. Customer Experience Engage customers by greeting and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience. Model and share best practices with team members, including greeting, eye contact, courtesy, proactive help, and satisfying customers. Training & Personal Development Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager. Communications Serve as liaison between management and non‑management team members, communicating assigned tasks when manager is absent. Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management. Basic Qualifications One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of store inventory control. Consideration of applicants with arrest and conviction records. Obtain and maintain valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
