Title Orthodontic Dental Assistant Job Description Expert Chairside Support: Assist our orthodontists during specialized clinical procedures including bracket placement, wire changes, orthodontic band fitting, and clear aligner attachments using seamless four-handed dentistry techniques. Advanced Digital Diagnostics: Safely capture high-quality dental X-rays and 3D digital oral scans while maintaining absolute adherence to radiation safety and aseptic protocols. Clinic Efficiency & Sterilization: Prepare, sanitize, and stock treatment bays with specialized orthodontic instruments following strict infection control guidelines. Digital Record Keeping: Smoothly manage patient charts, medical documentation, and treatment progression using specialized EMR platforms (Dentrix or Eaglesoft) under absolute HIPAA compliance. Patient & Parent Education: Enthusiastically guide pediatric patients and parents through oral hygiene best practices, appliance maintenance, and clear post-op instructions. Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaboratively support the front-desk reception staff with appointment scheduling, updating dental coding records, and streamlining patient flow. Salary Range full-time $25 - $30 per hour - Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. Shift & Schedule Full-Time Hours: Generally aligns with our standard patient care hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (No weekends!). Requirements Certified Orthodontic Assistant Dentrix Dexis Eaglesoft General Dentistry X-ray / Radiography Certification Clinical Experience: Prior hands-on experience working inside an active dental clinic environment; dedicated experience in orthodontics or pediatric dentistry is highly valued. Technical Skillset: Proven proficiency with orthodontic materials, chairside assisting techniques, dental imaging software, and taking vital signs. Software Competency: Familiarity navigating Electronic Medical Records (EMR) like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of current HIPAA compliance rules and strict sterilization standards. Core Competencies: Extensive familiarity with foundational dental terminology and anatomy concepts across specialties (including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics).
