Behavior Support Specialists

Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour

Location: Newark, Delaware; Onsite

Position Summary

As a Behavior Support Specialist, you will support students within a school-based setting by conducting behavioral assessments and developing individualized behavior support plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role collaborates closely with school staff and behavioral teams to support positive student outcomes and effective behavioral interventions. The ideal candidate is pursuing a career path in behavior analysis or related behavioral support services. Shift details: School-day schedule, Monday-Friday
Hours per week: Full time
Contract length: School-based assignment

Key Duties

Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) for students requiring behavioral support
Develop individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) based on assessment findings
Collaborate with school staff, behavioral teams, and educational professionals to support student success
Implement and monitor behavioral interventions under BCBA supervision
Collect, document, and analyze behavioral data to support intervention planning
Participate in meetings, trainings, and additional duties as assigned
Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations regarding student support services

Requirements

Education

Required: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education, Psychology, Human Development, or related field

Licenses & Certifications

Required: Ability to complete criminal background check
Additional certifications: Documentation of PPD test within the last five years
Additional certifications: Child Protection Registry clearance
Additional certifications: Favorable drug screen results

Skills

Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and developing Behavior Support Plans
Strong understanding of behavioral intervention strategies and student support practices
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary school-based environment
