Job TitleJob Overview:Pay Range: $22.24hr - $24.00hrRequirement/Must Have:Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required.Minimum of 6 months’ work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.High School Diploma or GED.Responsibilities:Perform blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, and updating patient information.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection as required.Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Fully understand all of the physicians’ orders.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport.Store specimen samples according to required temperature, place samples in appropriate collection containers, accurately label, and follow specific protocols for transport to maintain specimen integrity.Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department trainings.Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.Skills:Phlebotomy.Venipuncture.Specimen Processing.Centrifuging.Data Entry.OSHA Compliance.Microsoft Office Suite.Qualification And Education:Valid Phlebotomy certification.High School Diploma or GED.
