Echo Tech - Cardiology

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

1. Administers a variety of non-invasive tests using ultrasound technology.
2. Provides excellent diagnostic echo images, correct views and accurate measurements for: Transthoracic Echoes, Stress Echoes, Bubble studies, Definity Studies
3. Reports abnormalities to the physician promptly.
4. Clarifies and follows Doctor's orders.
5. Completes work within an acceptable time frame.
6. Assesses patients for potential risk factors.
7. Assumes accountability for managing patient care and safety. Promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
8. Appropriately educates and explains procedures to patients.
9. Follows department protocol for procedures unless specified differently by the Cardiologist.
10. Insures proper identification of patient.
11. Provides for patient privacy. Acts as a patient advocate and uphold patient rights.
12. Responds effectively in an emergency situation.
13. Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care.
14. Documents patient history and demographics in ProSolv
15. Prioritizes and organizes work assignments and adjusts priorities based on changing situations. Is flexible to changing priorities.
16. Consults and communicates with other departments in a professional manner.
17. Employs tasking appropriately and timely.
18. Follows department standards for reporting equipment malfunctions or problems. Ensures equipment is in acceptable conditions by conducting routine quality control.

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:

• 0 – 1 years experience required. 2-4 years experience preferred.
• RDCS Certification from the ARDMS or RCS Certification from the CCI is required.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing required.
• Working knowledge & operation of Cardiac Ultrasound & Cardiac Testing Equipment.
• Recognition of Cardiac Dysrhythmias required.
• Understanding of cardiac anatomy & physiology required.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.
• Ability to use problem solving, critical thinking and priority setting skills required.
• Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail) preferred.
• Experience with Standard Office Technology in a Window based environment preferred.
• Experience with Standard Cardiac Testing & Cardiac Ultrasound Equipment preferred.
• Experience with MUSE system preferred.
• Experience with EHR, Practice Management System and Departmental/Ancillary Systems preferred.

Pay Range: $33.99 - $42.50 Hourly

The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
