Key Responsibilities

• Ensure completion of case carts according to preference cards, including procurement of instruments and supplies for scheduled and non-scheduled surgical procedures.
• Communicate clearly with operating room staff and sterile processing staff to coordinate instrumentation throughout the day.
• Review the daily surgical schedule to identify potential turnover delays and scheduling issues.
• Manage core phone communications, delegate duties, and coordinate breaks and lunches as appropriate.
• Serve as a resource for sterile processing and surgical services departments regarding supply and instrumentation needs.
• Communicate and coordinate with materials management regarding supply utilization and deployment.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program, or equivalent military surgical technologist program.
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrated expertise in surgical technique, human anatomy, and surgical procedures.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a fast-paced operating room environment with both scheduled and non-scheduled cases.
• Familiarity with sterile processing department workflows and instrumentation coordination.
