Fan Development Intern - Fall 2026

Overview The Fan Development Intern will gain hands‑on experience performing a variety of roles within a fast‑paced, behind‑the‑scenes environment, with the chance to directly impact professional soccer in Kansas City. Sporting Kansas City’s collaborative environment offers learning opportunities designed to evolve interns’ capabilities, challenge strengths, and reach their fullest potential. This internship runs from August25th–December11th for students or recent graduates actively pursuing an undergraduate degree or who have recently earned a Bachelor’s degree. Essential Functions Assist the Fan Development team with gameday activities, including overseeing and executing Sporting Plaza activations, managing stadium entertainment, and running in‑stadium promotions. Assist in creating grassroots marketing strategies that drive fan growth within the region. Support the Fan Development team with NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) strategies. Attend and participate in event‑planning meetings as needed. Attend all Sporting Kansas City home games and non‑soccer related events. Represent Sporting Kansas City and its affiliates professionally at all times. Perform other related tasks as assigned. Match Day Responsibilities Act as a representative of Sporting Kansas City at all home matches, engaging with guests and creating “Magic Moments” for fans. Personal Attributes Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives, and exercise independent judgment based on organizational policies and activities. Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and precision. Professional appearance and attitude, and ability to work collaboratively with others. Skills and Experience Fluent speaking, reading and writing in English. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Calendar). Critical and analytical thinking skills. Ability to meet deadlines and maintain strong attention to detail. Drive for perfection. Physical Abilities Required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, pull, push and reach with hands and arms.
