Digital Content Intern - Fall 2026

Overview The Digital Content Intern will gain hands‑on experience performing a variety of roles within a fast‑paced, behind‑the‑scenes environment with the chance to directly impact professional soccer in Kansas City. This internship takes place from August25th to December11th. Essential Functions Research and present new social trends, pop culture references and opportunities to create buzzworthy content on social media. Assist the SKC Social team with content tagging and analytics reporting. Assist the SKC Digital team with various email, web, and app tasks. Produce original social content for channels such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X and more. Assist with event and match coverage for Sporting KC and affiliate social media channels. Assist the SKC Social team with community engagement. Maintain the Sporting Kansas City brand by studying target markets and competitors. Assist with brainstorming partnership integration on social media. Continue to grow and expand the brand, maintaining quality and consistency among all entities and partners. Represent Sporting Kansas City and its affiliates in a professional manner at all times. Perform other related tasks as assigned. Match Day Responsibilities Act as representatives of Sporting Kansas City at all home matches, engaging with guests and creating Magic Moments for all fans. Skills and Experience Pursuing an undergraduate degree or graduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Digital Marketing or a related field. Must provide proof to receive credit through the internship toward the completion of a degree. Adobe Creative Suite knowledge. Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar. Critical and analytical thinking processes. Awareness of and interest in latest digital, social media and emerging trends shaping professional sports. Photography and photo‑editing experience. Experience working in a fast‑paced, team environment. Strong attention to detail and a drive for perfection. Excellent writing skills. Ability to maintain confidential information. Physical Abilities Required to sit, stand and walk. Frequent stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Reach with hands and arms. Required to talk and hear consistently.
