Tax Controversy Counsel

The Merker Group (a leading National legal recruiting firm), is working on a role for a really well respected Am Law 100 with a nice culture (where we know people working in the New York office). They are searching for an attorney with 8-12 years, in representing clients in federal and state tax controversy matters. Responsibilities will include independently managing a diverse range of issues such as IRS and state audits, administrative appeals, collections, penalty abatements, and voluntary disclosures. Experience with U.S. Tax Court and other tax litigation, including U.S. District Court proceedings, is highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate strong legal research and writing abilities, including drafting protests, pleadings, and settlement submissions. The firm pays exceptionally well, has a nice flexible in office culture. We have seen other attorneys move from top Am Law 100 firms here and are VERY happy (very good compensation too)!
