Infectious Disease Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)This position is open to local and non-local candidates. This is a temp to hire opportunity. Schedule: 5x8hr, 0800-1700 (Monday - Friday, off weekends). Experience: 6 months of experience working as an MA-C in an adult outpatient clinic setting. Skills required: Vital signs (height/weight, obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, obtain vital signs, pulse oximetry, vision testing), prepare for exam (positioning/draping, record history/medications/allergies), set up and assist with procedures (dressing change, pap smear, set up aseptic/sterile procedure trays), injections (immunizations, intradermal, intramuscular), specimen collection (labeling of specimens, sputum, stool, throat, urine - UA/clean catch, vaginal, wound), laboratory tests (strep, urine dipstick/urinalysis), office duties (authorization forms, chart preparation, insurance verification, ordering supplies, pharmacy calls/patient refill requests, scheduling appointments, stocking supplies, telephone triage), professional skills and knowledge (administering medication, administration of TB test, aseptic technique, follow up phone calls, review lab tests, rooming, patients, suture removal, wound care). Certs required: BLS. License required: MA-C. First-timers accepted: Yes. Weekends required: No. Is on-call required? No. Will this traveler need to float between like units?
