Overview
Registered Nurse, Med Surg — Atlanta, GA, United States. Start date: 09/08/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,691–$1,763 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 3 nights per week. Setting: acute-care, high-acuity Med Surg unit with surgical and trauma patients.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult medical-surgical and trauma patients in a high-acuity Med Surg unit.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor responses, manage IV therapies, and perform wound care as needed.
- Conduct ongoing patient assessments; document findings in the electronic health record; participate in care planning and rounding with the multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with the ED and admitting unit during handoffs; coordinate with unit secretary and phlebotomy staff to ensure smooth operations at night.
- Monitor patient loads (approximately 5:1 ratio) and respond to clinical changes, emergencies, and changes in patient status.
- Support continuity of care through accurate nursing handoffs and adherence to unit protocols.

Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in Georgia (or eligible to practice in Georgia)
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience in a high-acuity setting
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Ability to perform 12-hour night shift duties in a high-acuity Med Surg environment
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
