Store Manager in Training

Compensation Pay Range: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses or premiums, which can be paid in amounts ranging per hour under specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Assist the store manager in sales, appearance, and overall store operations. Prepare the assistant manager for future management roles at other stores or locations. Supervise the professional and retail operations of the store and all team members. Professional duties – oversee all delivery and installer service specialists. Retail duties – oversee all parts and merchandising specialists. Work jointly with the district manager and store manager on recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging team members. Communicate information from Team Weekly and monthly store manager meetings to all team members. Train new team members assigned to the assistant manager. Handle team member performance evaluations and recommend pay increases. Assist in hiring by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling, participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure qualified selections. Support the store manager by ensuring safety compliance and that all team members receive appropriate training in all areas. Monitor and reinforce safety expectations. Make sales calls with or without the store manager and may be assigned a schedule for weekly customer calls. Support store manager in store operations as assigned. Maintain the delivery fleet and keep records for each vehicle. Ensure staff keep the store neat, clean, and organized at all times. Handle electronic scheduling, clocking, and payroll. Learn to utilize the electronic scheduling and time‑keeping system and payroll entry functions. Learn to manage key components of gross profit. Monitor professional customer returns for core and warranty abuse. Review competitive price matches and price overrides for proper use. Review individual team member productivity and KPI dashboard daily. Review monthly P&L statements with the store manager and discuss areas of opportunity. Skills, Education, Knowledge, Experience, and Abilities Required: High School Diploma. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Must complete Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program. Ability to read and match numerical/alpha characters quickly and accurately. Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems. Advanced computer skills. Desired Qualifications O’Reilly store and/or distribution center experience. Completed O’Reilly management training program. Advanced computer skills. A.S.E. Certification. Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired). Benefits Competitive wages & paid time off.
