Scientist, Non-Viral Delivery Process Sciences

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Scientist in Non-Viral Delivery Process Sciences to advance targeted lipid nanoparticle manufacturing platforms. The role involves designing mechanistic studies, optimizing formulation and purification processes, and translating early-stage science into scalable manufacturing approaches within a collaborative cell therapy research environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute hypothesis-driven studies to establish mechanistic process understanding and enable scalable manufacturing of targeted LNPs
• Develop and optimize end-to-end LNP processes including formulation, bioconjugation, purification, and downstream processing with focus on scalability
• Establish mechanistic understanding of targeting moiety conjugation and how these processes influence product quality attributes
• Develop and apply scale-down models to support process sensitivity analysis and translation to larger-scale manufacturing
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Analytical Development, Process Development, and CMC to translate early understanding into development-ready approaches

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years relevant experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years, or Ph.D. in life sciences
• Hands-on experience with LNP formulation, rapid mixing, tangential flow filtration, and downstream processing
• Proficiency in physicochemical characterization techniques: particle sizing, zeta potential, spectroscopy, chromatography, electrophoretic methods
• Experience applying design of experiments, statistical analysis, and multivariate data approaches
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary, cross-functional team environments
• Strong technical communication and presentation skills to diverse audiences
• Preferred: bioconjugation or surface functionalization experience for targeted delivery systems

Compensation: $128,380 - $155,571
