Eligibility & Billing Specialist (On-Site)

Pay:  $21.00/hour
Location: Akron, OH
Type: Contract (W2)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (40 hrs/week)
Openings: 2

Position Summary

We’re hiring an  Eligibility & Billing Specialist to process and reconcile enrollment/eligibility and premium-billing transactions in claims and related vendor systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

• Process, implement, and reconcile eligibility/enrollment and billing transactions in claims and vendor systems
• Review enrollment files and error reports; troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Respond to and distribute inquiries from member/provider portals and shared email groups
• Investigate rejected transactions (CMS/FFM and other third-party vendors) and take corrective action per compliance guidelines
• Analyze data to identify deficiencies and reduce compliance risk
• Assist with quality control audits and reconciliations of files exchanged with third-party vendors
• Provide professional customer service (phone/electronic), document inquiries, and route items for resolution when needed
• Batch correspondence for scanning and support document/workflow processes
• Maintain confidentiality of member health and business information

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• 1+ year experience in eligibility processing, auditing records/reports, data processing, and/or customer service systems supporting healthcare operations
• Basic proficiency with  Microsoft Access, Word, and Excel
• Typing: 35 WPM with 95% accuracy
• Strong communication, proofreading, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
