Atlantic Group is hiring a Tax Manager in New York, NY for our client, supporting high-impact tax advisory and compliance initiatives for large corporate clients. This role focuses on corporate tax compliance, provision work, and strategic tax projects including IPO readiness, system implementations, and transaction-related initiatives. The position offers exposure to complex engagements, diverse industries, and the opportunity to accelerate career growth through varied client experiences.
Responsibilities as the Tax Manager:
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and review corporate federal tax returns (Form 1120) for large, complex organizations.
- Provision Work: Lead and support ASC 740 tax provision calculations and reporting processes.
- Advisory Projects: Participate in strategic initiatives including IPO readiness, carve-outs, and system implementations.
- Client Engagement: Work directly with clients to deliver tax solutions, resolve issues, and provide ongoing support.
- Technical Analysis: Conduct tax research and apply findings to complex tax matters.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance tax processes and reporting efficiency.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Certifications: CPA or EA is required or in progress (CPA strongly preferred).
- Experience: 4-8 years of public accounting experience with strong corporate tax exposure is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep experience with corporate federal tax compliance (Form 1120) is required; ASC 740 provision experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills required; experience with tax software and reporting tools preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, communication, and client-facing skills with the ability to adapt across multiple engagements and industries are required.
