L&W Recruiting is conducting a confidential search for a litigation defense attorney to join a respected civil-defense firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The firm is a fixture in the carrier community, defending a sophisticated mix of matters across the city and statewide. Its name is shared with qualified candidates.

Day to Day:

- Run your own defense docket - early case assessment through trial or resolution - with genuine autonomy

- Take and defend depositions across commercial vehicle, general liability, product liability, and professional negligence matters

- Brief dispositive motions and prepare mediation and arbitration submissions

- Appear regularly in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and federal district court

- Advise carrier clients and claims professionals directly on strategy, exposure, and reserves

You Bring:

- Pennsylvania bar in good standing; New Jersey admission a meaningful plus

- Roughly 2-7 years of insurance-defense or civil-litigation-defense experience

- Solid deposition and motion-practice experience, plus courtroom time (hearings, arbitrations, or trials)

- Polished, client-facing communication
