As a member of the Cooper Steel team, performance includes demonstration of accountabilities such as communication, teamwork, job knowledge, and leadership.POSITION SUMMARYThe Purchasing Assistant provides support to the Purchasing Department. This position is responsible for invoice review, material management in the purchasing tracking system, and ensuring records are maintained appropriately.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReview and approve material invoices.Oversee material management within the internal system including adding and monitoring material, prices, and delivery information.Monitor material stock levels across all plant locations.Update and maintain material locations as jobs are processed and completed.Track tonnage usage for FPAs (Firm Price Agreement).Coordinate MTRs (Material Test Report) to ensure all documentation contains accurate and precise information.Perform other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
