Emilia is a neighborhood Italian restaurant in Philadelphia that celebrates seasonality, light and bright flavors, and wood-fire grilling. The newest restaurant by Chef Greg Vernick, Emilia brings a thoughtful and welcoming approach to Italian dining, with a menu rooted in quality ingredients, handmade pastas, vibrant dishes, and a beverage program inspired by the ease and enjoyment of Italian hospitality.

What You’ll Do:

We are looking for a hospitality professional who can confidently guide guests through the dining experience while working closely with fellow front-of-house and back-of-house team members. The ideal candidate brings strong service fundamentals, curiosity about food and wine, and a calm, welcoming presence.

• Provide warm, attentive, and genuine hospitality to every guest.
• Guide guests through the menu and beverage offerings with accuracy, enthusiasm, and thoughtful recommendations.
• Take and enter orders accurately, communicate dietary restrictions and allergies, and coordinate timing with the kitchen and bar.
• Maintain awareness of assigned tables and anticipate guest needs throughout service.
• Serve food and beverages according to restaurant standards and ensure accurate presentation.
• Complete opening, closing, and side-work duties with care and consistency.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly set tables and service stations.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate with the full restaurant team to support a smooth service.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant; experience in a chef-driven or fine-dining environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of and passion for hospitality and service.
• Interest in Italian cuisine, wine, and continued food and beverage education.
• Warm, polished, and professional communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to support coworkers.
• Ability to remain composed, efficient, and gracious in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly wage plus tips in a pooled house
