Human Resources Director

Florida Heart Associates is recruiting for a full-time Director of Human Resources. Qualified applicants should have at least five years of experience in a human resources department. The ideal candidate will also have three years of experience in a health care human resource department. The Director of Human Resources will plan, organize and direct all aspects of the human resource functions of the practice in employment, records, employee relations, onboarding, orientation, payroll administration, and HRIS management. This role will facilitate student/externship coordination, as well as assist with license/certification tracking, provider license/DEA renewals, privileges and assist with maintaining credentialing records. Located in the attractive Southwest Florida Gulf Coast area, Florida Heart Associates operates a modern medical center dedicated to meeting the cardiac needs of Southwest Florida. We perform diagnostic cardiac testing, in addition to peripheral vascular procedures. We also support an in-house cardiac PET imaging system, stress testing, ECHO, and management of arrhythmia equipment. EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of experience in a human resource department. Three (3) years of experience in a health care human resource department preferred. CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Directs the planning, strategic goals and objectives of the human resources department. Assists in developing clinic goals and objectives. Formulates and develops general personnel policies and procedures. Manages and integrates various functions of the department, including employment, compensation, benefits employee relations and orientation. Evaluates changing demographics, legal and technical development in the field and develops new programs to meet the practice’s needs. Reviews departmental performance in relation to established goals and objectives. Ensures compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. Reviews and processes all personnel action reports for accuracy of merit increases, market adjustments, promotions, status changes, transfers and disciplinary actions. Provides assistance to all managers and supervisors, assisting them in performing personnel management activities. Monitors employee turnover. Source, screen and conduct interviews. Checks references and completes pre-employment requirements of OIG and SAM exclusion, verification of license/certification/registry, drug screens, AHCA level 2 background screen. Extends offers, employment agreements, and new hire onboarding packets. Prepare and conduct new hire onboarding. Ensures timely completion of form I-9 and E-Verify. Ensures performance evaluations are completed at 90 days and annually. Support the Credentialing Specialist and Accounting Manager with provider license renewals, DEA renewals, CME reporting and tracking, CAQH, PECOS, and reappointments. Administers and tracks compliance training. Reviews and logs all subpoenas received by the practice. Attends a variety of administrative meetings to make policy decisions. Identifies and seek solutions to complex personnel problems. Maintains strictest confidentiality. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.Performs related work as required. Perform other duties as assigned by supervising manager. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of personnel practices and theories to direct the operation of a human resource department and formulate goals and objectives consistent with federal, state and local guidelines. Knowledge of management principles and theories. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees medical staff and the public. Knowledge of the budgeting process. Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative and judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives. Skill in evaluating organizational operations as they relate to policies, goals and objectives, costs and staffing levels. Ability to create an atmosphere that encourages motivation, innovation and high performance. Skill with exercising initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives. Skill in identifying and resolving problems.
