Compensation: Starting at $8.25 per hour plus tips

Job Summary: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at an all service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. Basic Function: The Host/ess will greet guests entering the restaurant and seat them in a timely manner.

Qualifications: Education, Knowledge, Training, & Work Experience

High school diploma/equivalent preferred or currently enrolled in High School and able to work.

Good food and service knowledge.

Pleasant personality.

Excellent communication skills.

Command of the English language

Essential Functions:

Greet and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.

Seat all guests in a timely and courteous fashion. Clear extra settings if not needed. Present menu to each guest.

Answer telephone and take reservations using professional language.

Volunteer Resort information to guests. Must be knowledgeable about other restaurants, shops and locations on property and about current/upcoming events.

Keep work area/podium clean and organized. Menus should be wiped down at the end of each shift and replaced if wrinkled or soiled.

Communicate with kitchen and staff to ensure steady flow of dining guests.

Maintain waiting list of guests. Know what tables are available, who is covering each section and how to seat guests alternately in each section.

Utilize OpenTable system to control flow of seating and server sections in restaurant

Responsible for cash handling and bank procedures as outlined by the Accounting Department

Marginal Functions:

Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds

Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours.

As time allows, walk around restaurant and check on guests. Refill water, push in stools, wipe down high tops, while always keeping an eye on podium.

Environment: Indoor fast paced environment with vinyl and carpeted surfaces. Outdoors with cement surfaces and exposure to outdoor climates and elements. Loud noise levels.
