Job Description

Join a fast-paced manufacturing facility as a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and executing repairs on production and material handling equipment. This role focuses on ensuring optimal equipment performance, reducing production downtime, and maintaining safe, efficient operations during 3rd shift (overnight)

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on production machinery and material handling equipment to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues on motors, gauges, pumps, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment.
• Identify root causes of equipment malfunctions and implement effective corrective actions and repairs.
• Work with some automated equipment, including basic interaction with PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs), to support equipment functionality.
• Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, damage, or potential failures and take appropriate maintenance actions.
• Complete mechanical repairs and adjustments in a timely manner to support continuous production operations.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in accordance with facility procedures.
• Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to coordinate repairs and minimize disruption to manufacturing schedules.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with mechanical, electrical, and automated equipment.
• Support weekend production requirements by performing maintenance tasks as needed to ensure equipment readiness.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in maintenance and repair of industrial equipment.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues on motors, gauges, pumps, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance on production and material handling machinery.
• Ability to work as a maintenance technician in a fast-paced, high-demand manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of basic mechanical systems and components used in industrial and production environments.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow maintenance procedures and equipment instructions.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Reliability and dependability to support mandatory overtime and weekend work requirements.
• Ability to work 3rd shift hours consistently and maintain productivity and attention to detail.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shafter, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
