Sutro Hall will be a neighborhood restaurant rooted in San Francisco - an everyday gathering place where great food, genuine hospitality, and memorable celebrations come together. Overview

The Host is the first and last impression of Sutro Hall. Working alongside the Matre D' and management team, the Host helps create a welcoming, organized, and seamless guest experience from the moment guests arrive. As a member of the opening team, this role will help establish the hospitality standards that define Sutro Hall from day one. The Host plays an important role in managing reservations, supporting the flow of the dining room, and ensuring every guest feels genuinely welcomed and cared for.

What You'll Do

Welcome every guest with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Support the Matre D' in managing reservations, seating assignments, and waitlists. Guide guests through the arrival experience while communicating accurate wait times and expectations. Answer phones, assist with reservations, and respond to guest inquiries. Communicate guest preferences, celebrations, and special requests to the service team. Support the flow of the dining room by working closely with managers, servers, and support staff. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand. Thank guests as they depart and invite them to return. Step in wherever needed to support the guest experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required. Experience with reservation platforms such as OpenTable is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organization and attention to detail. Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to learn and grow within the hospitality industry. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Hourly Compensation: $19.61 per hour + tips
