Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as required):

• Must follow SOP’s/POP’s and all other procedures in every detail, including safety policies.
• Follow instruction and directives as assigned by Crew Leads and Supervisors.
• Is directly responsible for the precious metal being worked on.
• Perform material tracking as related to specific processes.
• Participate in end of shift turnovers with ability to effectively communicate in English.
• Ability to wear required PPE including respirators.
• Ability to operate and maintain equipment to company standards and safety standards.
• Must operate equipment (for example, pumps, GLV’s, filter presses, pan filters, reactors, valves, pH probes, ovens, forklifts, etc) in a reasonable and self-sustaining manner.
• Perform operator base equipment safety inspection and production area maintenance duties.
• Responsible for a clean and tidy environment.
• Must notify Supervisor immediately of any deviations from normal operations.
• Working knowledge and understanding of one or more of the processes within the department.
• For Chemical Product, i.e. Rh production, PLC controls, Rotovap, Funabac, and LS treatment.
• Must report to work as scheduled.
• Responsible for understanding safety requirements and emergency procedures.
• Responsible for understanding basic chemical reactions and properties of chemicals within the work area.
• Responsible for handling and processing Hazardous Waste as required within the work area.
• Responsible for completion of Hazardous Waste training as required.
• Tracking received PM and produced amounts in SAP (PMT).
• Proceed x-Steps for Filling materials in SAP.
• Confirm working hours via manufacturing orders in SAP.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent may be exposed to chemical compounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is exposed to weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is exposed to elevated temperatures with moving parts and equipment such as forklifts, agitators, and pumps. May be assigned shifts that include evening, nights and/or weekend days. Handling of hazardous chemicals such as acids, oxidizers, and reducing agents. At times may be required to wear hearing protection, and half-mask respirator, and other forms of PPE.

• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Maintain awareness and compliance with all current local, state, and federal Environmental regulations, such as all regulations governing the handling and disposal of Hazardous waste.
• Comply with all Security policies as outlined by the company standards and local, state and federal laws, as well as Heraeus Safety policies.
