Description The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: providing exceptional customer service to guests, work autonomously on recruitment efforts within our Slate CRM, and cooperatively within our team on multiple visit and event opportunities. This is a professional staff, twelve-month position with benefits that requires seasonal evening hours, overnight travel, and weekends. Preference will be given to individuals with a college admissions background and who are bilingual in English and Spanish. Duties/Responsibilities Demonstrated ability to interact effectively in both a counseling and public relations capacity with prospective students and the community Represent and promote VU positively and professionally at high school visits, college fairs, career centers, and other outreach events Strong interpersonal skills including strong verbal and written communication skills Evaluate student applicants for acceptance into VU Serve as liaison with assigned University college/school(s) and/or campus offices and departments to coordinate recruitment efforts Participate in on-campus events throughout the year (some Saturdays required) Assist in group visits and camps visiting campus Assist with other responsibilities, special programs, and projects on and off campus as assigned by the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions Other related duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and electronic office equipment Exemplary written and verbal communication skills Ability to juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities at once Ability to work in a fast paced environment Administrative experience; experience with Slate CRM and Banner; fluency in Spanish and English – eligible for a salary premium Education, Experience, Licensure Associate/Bachelor’s Degree College admissions, higher education, or recruitment experience Exemplary written and verbal communication skills Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills Knowledge of computers, internet, word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and presentation software Physical Demands: Normal physical demands for successful work in a normal office environment Benefits Competitive benefits package including health insurance 16 paid holidays Tax-deferred retirement contributions Vacation, and sick leave More information can be found by visiting the Benefits page of the VU website: Affirmative Action Equal Opportunity Employer.
