Litigation Counsel

Litigation Counsel $160K–$240K | California | Hybrid We’re working with a fast-growing trading card marketplace looking for a Litigation Counsel to own commercial, consumer and IP disputes. You’ll work closely with Legal, Risk and Product, managing active litigation while helping the business identify risk and prevent disputes before they escalat . The Opportunity You’ll join a growing legal function where litigation has significant visibility across the business. The role combines hands-on litigation, outside counsel management, consumer disputes, IP protection and legal risk strategy. What You’ll Do Lead IP disputes across trademark, copyright and other brand-related matters, working closely with outside counsel on strategy, filings, budgets and outcomes. Stay hands-on with litigation , drafting complaints, motions, demand and cease-and-desist letters, discovery responses and settlement agreements. Manage consumer disputes and arbitration , assessing claims, responding to pre-arbitration demands and finding efficient paths to resolution. Reduce disputes before they happen by partnering with Product, Customer Support, Marketing, Finance and Trust & Safety to identify trends and strengthen escalation processes, terms and disclosures. Advise the business on legal risk , providing practical guidance on litigation exposure, IP enforcement and dispute strategy. Build the litigation infrastructure needed as the business grows, including matter tracking, litigation holds, templates and reporting on active cases and legal spend. What We’re Looking For J.D. and active membership with a U.S. state bar California Bar required 4+ years of substantive litigation experience , ideally Senior Associate level or above Strong general litigation experience , including IP and/or commercial litigation Experience handling copyright, trademark and broader IP disputes Commercial litigation experience with the ability to manage matters from strategy through resolution Law clerk experience is valuable In-house experience is useful but not required ; strong law firm backgrounds are equally relevant Strong drafting and negotiation skills Comfortable working in a fast-moving technology environment Commercial judgment and the ability to turn complex legal issues into practical business advice Particularly Relevant Backgrounds Experience across fintech, wealthtech, payments, marketplaces, consumer technology, gaming, digital assets or other regulated technology businesses would translate well. Experience with consumer arbitration, consumer protection, regulatory disputes, online brand enforcement or high-volume consumer claims would also be valuable. Why Consider It?
