Duties

Help

• You will use a variety of sensitive, calibrated, and precision trade specific instruments and equipment.
• You will identify staging and scaffolding needs that are adequate for the enclosure to identify any interference in the area.
• You will design, fabricate, inspect, install, remove, and maintain nuclear and non-nuclear containments and enclosures.
• You will serve as the journeyman Fabric Worker/Containment Fabricator.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

*Plans, organizes, coordinates, and implements numerous quality-related requirements as they relate to design, fabrication, inspection, installation, and removal for both off-hull and in-hull enclosures.

*Assesses complex containment needs depending on the area located and the hazards involved.

*Determines and develops the fabrication, methods taken, materials needed to create and install, layout work and equipment used for preparation and construction of radiological and non-radiological barriers and enclosures.

*Uses complex equipment and calibration instruments to prepare and manufacture containment.

*Selects, cuts, shapes, joins, bonds, fits, and assembles containments.
